The Peak of Wellness.
Spring water from Miri Oka, in the village of Nkwelle, Umunnachi, Anambra State.
Our water has a home.
Hydrate Well Spring Water comes from Miri Oka, a spring in Nkwelle, one of the five villages of Umunnachi in Dunukofia Local Government Area, Anambra State.
Most bottled water asks you to imagine somewhere far away. Ours comes from a place with a name, a people and a history, right here in Nigeria.
Why a peak?
Chappal Waddi, Nigeria’s tallest peak, represents the peak of wellness for Hydrate Well Spring Water.
Rising 2,419 metres in Taraba State, it stands for what we aim for, and we carry its silhouette in the base of every bottle. The mountain is our symbol of aspiration. The water itself comes from Miri Oka in Umunnachi.
The story of Umunnachi
Umunnachi is an Igbo town in Dunukofia Local Government Area, Anambra State, in south-eastern Nigeria. It is one of the six towns of the ancient Dunukofia clan, from which the local government takes its name, and it borders Ogidi, Umudioka, Eziowelle and Ifitedunu.
Oral history traces the town to Nnachi, remembered as a warrior, hunter and farmer, and a son of Dunu from Okofia. His name lives on in the town today. Umunnachi is made up of five villages: Ozzuh, Mgbuke, Umueze, Nkwelle and Nagbana.

A living culture
Life here keeps its own calendar. Each February the town gathers for Aro na Erimede, with masquerades and cocoyam shared across the community. In September, Awanji marks the New Yam Festival. Market life turns around Eke-Umunnachi, and the Ofala Festival has been part of the town’s story since the first was held in December 1977.
